Middle GA Chicken Swap?!

LMAO Yeah that is the truth, BRING YOUR OWN CAGE! lol kinda like when you go to a party and they say byob it is byoc hahaha. Well, this has expanded more than I could have imagined! Dina, I will be putting new pics up i took a couple of days ago lots of new picts!

As far as when, I am not totally sure, I wanted to see if there was interest in it first, now that there is, it may most likely be on a Friday since I have to work Saturdays on night shift so I have to be able to get some rest Saturdays. We could possibly do it Friday and maybe Saturday morning. I would like to wait for the heat to die down a bit as well. School starts back here on August 1st (too early if you ask me) and it may be after that. I am thinking maybe September-ish possibly October. That way the weather has cooled down, nothing like trying to transport birds a long distance in a car or truck, too hot for them now. So I am looking for suggestions, i have never been to a swap since there arent any close by, I have been to livestock swaps just never a specialty bird swap.

There are in fact several shows going on in Perry, if we were to do it anywhere near fair time it would definately give yall something to do LOL. However I will probably be going to the Balke Shelton concert on oct 8th.

It is best not to do it then though since all the restaurants stay super busy and traffic is a disaster. I would say either AFTER the fair is over or in September is going to be likely. Any input you guys have will help in the organization of the swap.

I cant wait!

sounds good.
septemberish is better.way too hot now.
and besides that gives everyone time to see how their chicks grow out and what they are keeping and wanting to trade.

I was thinking the same thing, what with all the eggs I have incubating right now LOL

I know this:

The swap will include all waterfowl, gamebirds, ornamental fowl, and chickens of course.
Whatever you want to sell. I am kinda hopin when we get close to the swap that we can give everyone an idea of what will be brought to the swap, this may make more people want to come and also may help some people know how many cages to bring LMAO

If we can avoid the dates below I will be thankful... we have a school break and I will have my daughter and new "man" from California plus my youngest son and grandson visiting.. as much as I want to come to a chicken swap.. I wouldn't be able to do it then.

September 10th-18th

Or even if we want to move it to October and make it kinda Fall/Halloweenish fun -- might be cute...

I am excited

Shelly

this will be so fun.i already know some birds i want and this will give me time to ,hopefully, find someone who is going who can bring some.

now-just gotta see how many cages will fit in my horse trailer.

missred871 ,
maybe if people who really wanted to come
but had dates they couldn't could jot them down ,like shellyga did,we could try to get more people that way.JMO

Yea I am leaning toward a October swap anyway though the 10th of september is just a couple of days after my birthday

haha Nah September is still gonna be too hot I am sure, Oct is gonna be the month we do it and it will be closer to halloween I am sure, since the fair is at the beginning of the month, if there are people who cant come a certain day they are welcome to jot it down here so We know.

It will be hard to find a date when everyone could come. Also most people couldn't do it on Friday. I have to work on Friday's, so Saturday would be the only day I could come.

well I cant do much on a saturday unless I can get it off. So we will see, like I said we could make it a Friday and Saturday too, that way if people cant come sat then they can come fri. I am aware there is no way everyone will be able to make it, the number one rule in life is you cant make everyone happy.
