Hey there. I have a a little chick and I’m not sure the gender. He/she hatched on the 15th of July and is a speckled Sussex frizzle mix. (I’m so stoked about how this will look)
I just wanted to know if anyone could tell. But I feel like maybe too soon?
Hi Maka, it looks a little soon for me to tell, since both females and male fizzles have feathers who are rounded and curved, so ide wait to see how the chick's feather evolve and grow out.
As for the comb, roosters have of course a bigger comb, such as what you have shown in the pictures which are evolving quite quickly for its age, but for further confirmation its probably best just to wait a few more weeks to identify for further results of growth.

Noooooooo. It was supposed to be my dream hen (a frizzled speckled Sussex) :(

I’m so sad. 😭
Omg that mix does sound like quite the dream, that's adorable!!
I'm sorry to hear about your chick possibly being found as a rooster, but I hope you have a chance to have a pullet, best of luck! 🤞

Sounds like a one of the kind breed! I would like to know how she looks as an adult :)

Okay, so here it is about a month later and I still have no idea!! It hasn’t been crowing.

I feel like rooster maybe?

But this one doesn’t behave like one.

It behaves like a hen, no crowing. No aggressiveness.
