might get some mallards.questions

Hi all I think i might get 2 baby mallards from this guy and am wondering,Do I need to clip there wing feathers from flying,are they docile,and how many eggs do they lay?I already have ducks and know how to take care of them but ive just never had mallards before.

I clip my mallards wings to keep them in thie pen... I lost one to my dogs cause he flew out...

none of my mallards are clipped, but they're in a big flight pen, with a covered top, they don't fly much, but when they get to playing they do.

Mallards are seasonal breeders, and layers, and lay from about late feb.-august I think. my two girls started laying last february. they lay an egg a day like other ducks, but go broody on a whim, one of my two girls has been broody twice this year, she's now sitting on one of her own eggs, and 4 blue swedish eggs LOL.

as far as being docile, mine never were very friendly, even though I got them all as babies, they come up to me now, but don't like being handled.
