MIL rant...I know I shouldn't do it....

I understand all aspects of this; I worked in N. Homes w/crotchety old ppl ..and some really nice older ppl...

If this happens to me personally; my way of dealing with it, will be just how I deal with it now...

I am a human. I deserve to be treated decently.

If someone were to talk to me disrespectfully I'll call them out and let them know it.
If they CHOOSE to keep treating me like that. I'll CHOOSE to not take it. period.

It doesnt matter if that person is dying; there is such a thing as a CHOICE in how you talk,
treat ppl...they can be angry and bitter and nasty..or they can CHOOSE to be nice in the way
they talk (unless they are venting..) and can live out their days full of ppl who love to be around them..

Unless of course they suffer from alzheimers...that is a mental disease and changes it all...

There is a web site that I visit called aging care. I will see if I can find the link for you. It helps because you can find solutions to a lot of problems, and also know that you are not alone. Mean adults grow old and become mean old people. No one is willing to say that. not everyone is a sweet old lady.
you have my condolences and I truly understand. but unfortunately it will not get easier, only more difficult.
