I have one 5 day old silkie whose feathers are damp and clumped together around the vent. It's nothing like the pictures of the serious cases of pasty butt, but I want to catch this before it gets worse. I'm new to chickens, What do I do?

You can trim away the feathers around the vent if you like.

I would just keep an eye on her and make sure she doesn't develop a problem.
