Mild rant on how life sometimes sucks. Update, PICS

Quote:
Taz has been my faithful ride for almost 17 yrs. I sold off all of my other horses and placed him at friend of mines house. This was done because horses are herd animals and her horse was also alone. This way he had companionship. Do to a sudden unforeseen change in their circumstances I need to get Taz here ASAP. I had no warning. But I must admit, it will be good to have him home! I am riding him home tomorrow. This should be fun, he hasn't been under saddle in over 8 months!

Oh boy is right! I hope all will go well with you. Of course, you know how that goes. Now you need another horse to keep Taz a companion. Then you need one to keep horse #2 a companion while you ride Taz, and if you go and ride two horses….

Just be careful, promise?

I will be careful, I promise! I am picking him up this morning. It promises to be great fun. I have to catch him in a 2 1/2 acre pen by myself. Then I am going to have to ride him cold around 9 miles across the desert, by myself. I think I am going to have to take one of my xanax for this one. I am trying to get a friend to at least stop by for the actual mounting. If he is going to blow, that will be when it happens. Once I am on I will be good. Since Taz in somewhere in his 20's, a good 10 15 minute jog will take the edge off of him. I can honestly say in the 17 years that I have been riding him, he has NEVER ONCE, bucked, kicked, bolted, reared, struck or tried to bite a person or another horse. He will ride double, and pack anything you put on him no matter how noisy it is. I have only come off of him twice. Once we out riding, going up a hill, it was almost dark and suddenly there was a huge tree trunk in front of us. When he jumped it, I was already leaning forward and ended catching my bra on the saddle horn! LOL. It broke and I fell. He stopped and looked at my "ummm, what are you doing"? The first time, was right when I got him. He was a stone cold wild mustang and it was my first mount on him. I was told he was green broke and apparently, he wasn't. So wish me luck guys and I will post pictures of him when I get back.

Do you have a cell phone to call for help if needed? Better safe than sorry, if those 20 some year olds can have spunk after a rusty period. Good luck and be safe!

Sorry to read about all your problems. Just think though once it all gets done/fixed you will have a lot of things you will no longer stress about for quite some time. Hope all goes well with the horse transfer.

Taz is home! I am NOT HAPPY! Taz is so dirty he literally stinks. He has yellow snot, I should have been made aware of this so I could have started him on antibiotics. His tail is nothing but dreadlocks and in the middle part of it, it is one solid mass. I don't think I will be able to brush it out. His tail used to drag on the ground and was super thick. The thought of having to cut it makes me so sad. I think they have been doing his feet themselves. The toe is short, he is very straight up and down, yet the frog is so overgrown that some of the landmarks of the sole are unidentifiable. I felt so horrible riding him home. He started trying to stay of his front end about half way through the ride. He has feet that makes a shoer cuss, that how hard his feet are. In the 17 years that I have had him he has always been barefoot. And let me tell you he has been on some insane rides and has never once been lame or footsore. I am heartsick. I kept really close tabs on him the first year he was there and never noticed any problems. I trusted them to take care of him. For goodness sake, I was paying for all of his feed. He is so dirty he that he was actually was sweating mud.

On a good note TBG is fixing the broken water pipe in the morning!

I happy that you got Taz back home. It sounds like a blessing that you had to go get him right now. Good thing the water is now fixed. But the rest sounds like Murphy's Law. And I know that Murphy is a bad bad man. I hope that the rest will work it's self out very quickly.

When things like this bunch up on me, I start to wonder "how did I manage to PO the universe enough to deserve all this trouble".

I sure know that I spend a lot of time trying to be good.
