mill feed vs commercial feed like nutrena?

I am currently buying nutrena and am happy with it. There is a mill not too far away. They sell 5 dollars cheaper per 50 lbs. Should I change? Is milled feed better?

Looks fine. I would go with the mill feed. What a savings.Make sure good date and fresh.

Fresh is best. Some nutrients breakdown with age. Your local mill is better option.

I buy food from our local mill and my chickens are doing great on it. I save money too. Its about 5.00 to 6.00 cheaper a bag than what I was buying at the store.

I prefer fresh milled feeds, but I'm also picky about the recipes, in the end it all depends on your goals. Go with what works best for you.

The local feed mill hasn't been the best choice for me; their feed just didn't work out, and it's mash, not pellets or crumble (because of the expensive machinery needed), which is another problem for my flock.
I'd like to support a local business too, but it just wasn't a good fit here.
