Mille Cochin Info

All my MF have buff Columbian in them. I have a 3rd generation that is a big throw back to her grandparents. She looks like a BC but she has MF in her, of course. Super type so I kept her and currently she is in with Schmoozle but it is time for me to move hens around again to see what other wonderful creations I can come up with for better type.

Amy - I have a pair of buff columbians out of your eggs. At least I think they can be considered buff columbians. They are part of the mille fleur eggs.

Do you have a picture of a really good buff columbian that you can post?

I'm not sure of the proper buff color on the hens (light or dark) or the color of the roosters. My roo looks almost like a red with excessive black

Wildwood Cochins has an awesome looking Buff Columbian Roo~ ask her to post a pic.

ok, so if i can't get any mille hens short term, what color would i put to my mille/calico in the hopes of possibly maintaining the color? mottled or buff columbian? anything else i could look for that wouldn't be totally out there?

mailman is a friend of ours, he almost dropped them! hubby told him if they didn't hatch he'd be hearing from ME! LOL

We hatched 6 eggs the first week of Feb. Here's one perfecting the stink eye: I'll post updated pictures, just wanted to subscribe to the thread and how better than with a chick pic?

Funky Feathers: How very sweet! I'm still working on pics, took some today, they are such cute little buggers. All differently colored so easy to tell apart, although I don't know the correct terminology for the coloring, so we call them, "the brownish one" 'the black one" "the other brownish one" and so on. The kids have names for them.... but, well I'm sure you've all been there. I shall have pictures soon.

Now, do I want yellow colored feet and beak? and one of my chicks looks entirely black, he was hatched out with some Black Orpingtons and could pass for one of them (although quite smaller and with feathered feet), do I want black? or no. I'm trying to read through the thread.... but this is a LONG thread :) I'm so tired, I'm delirious.... keep thinking beak is spelled wrong.... beek? beak? hmmmm g'nite
