Mille Cochin Info

I have been so busy this week... I hatched 4 new bantam Cochins this week! One is a buff columbian and the other 3 are MFs. One is frizzled. The frizzles are all my daughter's, I just use them for the MF project. She has another one that is 21wks and laying already! Anywho, I will try my hardest to get pics tomorrow!

Waiting on those pix!!!!

I just candled my first 30 eggs hatching in my very own incubator and 15 of them are good! That is only 50% but some of the birds are young and it was before I plucked butts. I also have some hatching under some broodies. I love Spring

I will have to take a photo of how he looks now. He has filled out much more nicely and has that great color still. I can not I believe I got such a fabulous boy. I have a blue Frizzle growing up that I have kept back to replace the one I sold but now with this fella coming on I may sell the blue boy. This one is definitely not going any where! I want to breed more of these so this guy will be breeding some of my MF hens.

Don't apologize for cute photos! We love them! I really like the way you set them on the bench and had the ivy there. That makes for a great photo shoot!
Keep an eye on that dark red one. The eyeliner is coming from under the eye and should mean it is a girl.

Here's my newest babies - They hatched March 24th.

From left to right...
Frizzle Calico/Mille Fleur, Mille Fleur, Buff Columbian, Mille Fleur

Going by feather sexing at 1-2 days old, all 4 are pullets, but... Who knows.

Here is an updated photo of Shazam. He was tickled to get to come back into the brooder room for a photo shoot. He has been enjoying the fresh air and green grass plus lots of dirt of the outdoors. I sold his brother, who was not as nicely built or marked as this boy. I am still working to perfect the pattern but that is what he is sticking around for, to help get pattern and type into Frizzled MFC.

And again, I have MFC eggs up on the BST auction/classified area. I am only running them through tomorrow night because I like to set on Monday or Tuesday myself and again on Thursday. Though often I do not stick to my setting schedule as I would like. It is always fun and interesting to set eggs along with the people I ship out to so I can compare hatch rates.
