Funny, people that wanted a MF Roo said he was too light. That he didn't have enough black on him. So I guess he is wrong in every way? Useless for everyone?

Oh goodness no! He would be great with a hen that is MF/Mottled crossed. I use roos like him all the time for my hens bred this way. I get to bring in color and type with this great patterning. Your fella has the right amount of white to help out the white on some other girls but not enough to be considered a Calico.

This is a hen he would be perfect bred with but she has long been sold.



Or another hen I recently sold......



But like I am saying, he would bring in the red and white while these type of girls need that and the Mottled they carry can help with type and chevrons. This is the type of breeding I am doing in some of my pens and I am getting some really nice patterns out of it.

i need hens but at this point looks like he's going in a 'holding pattern' for now, until my mille fleur eggs hatch, we see who's a girl, and they grow up. LOL unless i find someone that needs him more. depends what hatches too.

I really don't know what a Calico male should look like. I would think that much white would be good. In my flock all kinds of shades are still happening and it is about to get even wilder with the Mottled for type.
