Mille Cochin Info

Yes! After years of talking to her, picking her brain and seeing her pics of her gorgeous birds! I can't believe I got to meet her! Figures I meet her a week before we are due to move back to Oklahoma!
RoPo, so funny. When you looked at my rosecombs and said, "are those black rosecombs too?" then, she said, "the only person I know who has milles and black rosecombs is.." then the lights went off LOL pretty cool. It's a shame you're moving and won't get to enjoy our BYC VIP lounge at the swap in June. for those of you who maybe are close enough, I host a big chicken shin-dig in June and Oct. http://mdpoultryswap.blogspot.com/ and it's a ton of fun.

Rey, I want Byron. I know you want to get rid of him now but, is there anyway you can hold him for me til the swap? How much is he? It's funny that I sold him to you.. now I want him back ahahhaahahah I'll use him in my MFC

I can hold him for you, Erin. $10? Byron is nastier now than ever. He tries attacking you as soon as you open the pen door. I have a stick I push him outside with and he attacks it until he's out the door. His son has his type and his mom's attitude. Since it looks like the whole group will not be going after all, I will try and get another cockerel out of him to replace Byron in the coming months.

Junior:

He's going through a funky stage with an odd tail feather and some of his cushion is missing since I added the youngsters and Beakman.

I got 5'x2.5'x2.5' cages yesterday and that helped with my space/breeding pen issues. I can put 5 birds in each, or divide them down and put trios in them.

RoPo, so glad you're happy with them. I noticed that darker one at hatch time. She was a huge ball of fluff and knew she would be special. I just wished she woulda hatched out blue!! I have been working on blue mille and really need a good type producer. I have one male that hatched out similar to her. People laugh when I say I can tell at hatch but, Im sure some of you on here know what Im talking about. That tiny little feather fluff grows on every toe and they hatch out like a little roly poly and heavy.. sometimes so heavy it takes another extra day for them to be able to walk! That's the one!! hahahahah Happy hatching everyone
