Is anyone here at BYC working on a Large Fowl Mille Fleur Cochin project?? After much research, I really think it can be done, but would take a few years to complete.

I don't think anyone here is right now. I know it can be done but LF Mottleds and Buff Columbians are hard to come. I know people with LF mottleds and have heard of LF buff columbians.

Yeah, that is the tricky part -- finding the chickens with the right genes! HAHA! I am thinking of giving it a shot, but wanted to know if anyone was already working on one too.

Well, I have buff LF hens that I use in my crele project and I have eggs in the bator from Bo Garrison's LF line of Mottleds so I could do it but I have so many other projects going on and I really prefer my bantams over my LF so I doubt I will work on it. I will just have to see how things go but with all the other things going on with this farm right now I can't see me taking on something else.

Nancy, i've said it elsewhere but i'll say it again... I may not have the best birds out there, but i think they're pretty darn good, myself. if i can help at all, say the word and once i've got eggs available i'd be glad to send you a few. i've got 4 girls in my mille pen, producing black and blue milles (plus the occasional black or blue based buff columbian).

Me too, my pullets are busy little layers right now. I will gladly share.

Yeah, Amy, it seems that you have a TON of stuff going on!! I don't have a huge attachment to the batam Cochins...not like I do with the LF ones, so this project seems like a good one for me! HAHAH! I will keep you and your Mottled babies in mind if I need some hatching eggs down the line!

I've raised chickens for 4 years now. How could the chicks be cuter each year? Can't wait for some chicks to hatch next eweek and I'm more excited than ever.excited this year
