Still working on that pesky color though. Seem like I've heard someone else say before that the closer you get in type seems like the further in color you get and the closer in color the further in type. I know it is not related at all but that's how I feel sometimes.

OK... I have a question and I will add pics tomorrow.

I have a hen, smallish comb, nice little bun on butt, no rooster tail feathers, no hackle feathers either.... I am thinking we have a problem. Especially since I "think" I caught him/her bumping ugly with the mottled hen in the pen with them. Heavy sigh. Sold as a hen.

Is it possible I have a he/she or something that is going through a molt? Do the cochins have the pointy feathers on the back like most other breeds do? There might be a couple of saddle feathers. Except when they are young, I haven't ever had a problem telling roos from hens.
