Was thinking of removing everything and blasting all the cracks with a paint stripper gun and then neeming everything including the chooks. Would that work?!

not sure what neem oil is, but for the most part, IMO diatomaceous earth is next to useless for parasites...Was thinking of removing everything and blasting all the cracks with a paint stripper gun and then neeming everything including the chooks. Would that work?!
ok so I will save the de for putting in their dust bath area. I have been trying to find somewhere here in the uk to get pemethrin but can only find it as a cream or spot on for dogs. If I don't have any luck im going to try and speak to the vets about ivermectin. I have neem oil coming but as its natural I dont expect it to kill the mites it will probably just repel them. Going to try and cook the majority of them and keep treating. I am going to go and speak to my local feed store asap and some local farmers. But this weekend is bank holiday so everything is closed!! Pulling my hair outnot sure what neem oil is, but for the most part, IMO diatomaceous earth is next to useless for parasites...
if you have sevin dust, 6-7% works well in coops and can be used on the birds directly as well. also useful on the birds is ivermectin. they market a pour-on variety for cattle (here in the US) that can be used as a spot on for chickens too. I also use the injectable version orally for internal parasites. but for the coop itself, sevin dust works, as does permethrin as a spray-on insecticide, again if you can get it locally.
that's the problem with recommending effective treatments, I know what we can get in the US, but not what's available elsewhere.
Oh no!! hope they come back soon. Our Great Pyr and Yorkie were MIA this week, first time overnight. Our neighbor ON the same street had them in a kennel. A friend of mine saw them posted on FB. I'm just glad they were found and not hit by a car. I MUST Get the electric fence in place for dogs… arrrrgh!!
