Mille Cochin Info

Niges would be a good little cockerel to keep for some Self-Red birds. Nice even color and I like his cushion that's already starting to form.

Yes, of the two, I've always preferred Nigus. He'd help me with the black tailed reds I want to work on...

ETA: OH! I was having serious camera issues this week and finally broke down and bought a new-for-me camera off eBay. I actually got pics of the whole whooping known 6 MFCs I am keeping from this years breeding. I still have a couple possibles growing out. Pics will come tomorrow!

I always preferred Nigus to as far as type goes. As of right now his developing cushion is looking really good. But Rafael is really friendly but I don't think type is there for him.

Edited for spelling

the only problem, as a red, is he doesn't have the mahogany coloration needed...

I have a roo that color with great type too, hanging around only 'just in case'... these are my reds growing out.
all babies from the same hatch, I got 5 girls 1 cockerel... just over 4 months old... (the pics were take about a month ago)

I got the pics taken, finally! I love this new camera!

These are the only 6 I think I am keeping so far. The calico girl may go yet. She has breast flowers and I need that, though. The boy is getting that horribly big comb his grandfather passes down. And, of course, everyone is tailless. The cockerel is getting his back since he's all by himself. So, I can't really tell who has good type and who doesn't.

I have one nice colored roo, no type though. I have 2 pullets growing up but I think no type on them either. I think I am going to use mine in a project rather than try to breed decent reds from them. If I ever get enough money I would buy from Joanie in Maine. However, I am chicken poor so for now I just dream.

Looking good! You agonized over their color/pattern but look at this....you have it going!

Karen, Very nice reds, and I'm liking the chest on the pullet in your first pic.

Bobbie, You definitely got yourself some nice chevrons. Arrrrgh, why must you remind me of comb, head, ect….? I was just gearing myself up for a hard cull, and one of the pullets I have in mind has a nice tight comb that I wouldn't mind passing on…..

Mike, I can't believe how clean and nice you keep your pigs… here's what mind look like:
