This bird is stunning!! I don't know about the white....it's looking like white lacing? Please correct me if I'm wrong here, folks, but I'm feeling like the pattern is looking 'off'...like the white and black are reversed? Again, I don't know, I'm just asking for learning purposes, I would be thrilled if this bird were in my flock.:idunno

I have been reading up on the Mille Fluer pattern, and this is what I found on a D Uccle page, "The distribution of the white feather tips should be at the end of the feathers and evenly spaced, showing two complete half circles across the wings and heavily marked on wing tips. These white markings should also show on all tail feathers and the neck and saddle hackle."

So does that sound accurate for the MF Cochin coloring too????? Or is it different?

It would be the same for all MF being accepted into the standard. I went in with some friends and bought a ABA book and we each get to use the part out of it that applies to our birds. It is a bit different from the APA SOP but it seems close, of course.
I am not allowed to copy and paste out of the SOP because of copy wright privileges.
In the ABA book they refer to them as white V shaped spangles at the end of each feather with a black V bar in between the white and the rich golden buff on a hen and vermillion on a roo.

Once we all get closer to the correct pattern I am sure we will have to start detailing it down to get it correct enough to enter into shows. Once I get it nice enough to enter in a show I want the judge to go home and remember that pattern on my bird.

My daughter is nagging for frizzles again. I sold her frizzled MFC pullet because she wasn't typey and her frizzling wasn't the best (tail was only slightly curled and hard). I also sold my frizzled cockerel and I shouldn't have. He was actually decent in color and he didn't have hard feathering. So, I am on the hunt again for frizzle MFCs.

Oh, I have 2 new cockerels from Erin. No breast flowers, but their type shows promise.

Wiz is looking less typey as he matures and has quite an ugly little face but his feathers are the softest nucest frizzle feathers I have ever felt. Plus he is well behaved so for now he stays. Shame your so far away or you could have had some baby frizzles from me. What do people think about the lemony pullet above? Can I use her in my program or is she too light? Im unsure about her would appreciate some guidance! Keep the pics coming I havebt been on for a while as weve been away and ive been in mite extermination mode.

Xavier daughters growing up. He usually throws so much vermillion that I sell a lot of his offspring but I am keeping these girls because of type. Not the reds there or the Mottleds but the very red MF and the very white MF. Different mothers can show you how the genes are still being affected when linked up when out of the same sire.

I tell you what....from now all my babies are going into this pen to grow up! There are seven girls and one boy in this pen. Usually I have 7 boys and one girl!
