Thanks for the compliments and opinions. I know I can't take credit for these. The credit goes to Lynne and Josh-I only hatched the eggs.

Nancy, I really love the second roo. I know he's not correct color and all, but I think he is just beautiful, and has great type. Coopa, why don't you send me some of those gals, and we'll pair them up??lol
I know my cockerels from Josh have alot of growing to do. I just wish they'd grow a little faster already! After picking my first MFC egg yesterday, I'm ready to get this thing started.

Hey, it's good to see some pictures. I think you're the only person I've shipped eggs off to. I like the looks of the first Cockerel. Is the second one standing goofy or is his neck really tall like that? Did you end up with any pullets out of the batch or just Cockerels?

Anyway, it's good to see them.

It's been a long day, but here's my thoughts tonight regarding Tri-Color Cochins - both Mille Fleur AND Calico. Yes, I said 'AND' - not vs. While working toward Mille Fleur, many have also fallen for the Calico sport that has emerged. I refer to it right now as a 'sport', only because it was an unexpected result. As some choose to continue on with the Calicos (as well they should - the Cochin world will benefit from both), then they will no longer be 'sports', as they will no longer be unexpected.

But please allow me a few minutes to share an anecdote (or is it an analagy?):

Many years ago, "good" Poodle breeders were expected to put down immediately any puppy born that was not solid-colored. But look at where the multi-colored Poodles are today! As breeders worked toward these multi-colored "Parti" Poodles, two distinct color patterns emerged, and today there are both "Parti" and "Tuxedo" Poodles. Both were born of 'sports' that years ago were not even supposed to be allowed to live. The breeders continue today to move forward and work TOGETHER to get both colors recognized by AKC.

Thanx for listening . . . time to put my soap box away for the night.

Hey, Josh. Yes, I have the two cockerels from yours. This guy was really hard to photograph for some reason-didn't want to cooperate at all. Here are all of the pics I took of yours. I think the first 3 pics are of the cockerel in the second pic from earlier. See what you think.

Hi Paula, Slightly OT, but it looks like you have built one of those PVC pipe feeders - is that correct? Any chance you could show us a pic of what it looks like?

We did build them, but I really don't use them. The feed doesn't flow easily. My husband says we need to replace the 90 degree elbows with 2-45 degree elbows, and the feed will flow more easily. They really are handy, though, when they work right. Just one of those things we need to get to-it's on the list.
