TimK bred Nancy's Candy & Opal, and my Blizzard, Cyclone & Tornado. He's got awesome MFCs.

Yes, I figured that was the case, but was wondering about the background of his efforts, where his stock originated.

Nobody knows?

I'd never heard of him...but that bird is quite a looker!

Well, I figure that when he has time, TimK can speak for himself.

eta: I should mention that when I last heard from him (yesterday or the day before) he was battling a cold and did not feel well.

I know this is short notice & OT, but I have a doz+ MFC hatching eggs available to ship tomorrow. Anyone out there in need? The gal on my wait list canceled due to the holidays.

Please PM me if you would be interested.

Oh, how frustrating! I haven't gotten notices for quite a few posts! I'm subscribed so usually get an email letting me know when somebody posts.

Of my three latest chicks ~ all three are from my pullet from Lynne: "Rose" and most likely sired by Lynne's cockerel "Rudy" although the eggs were dated 11/7, 11/8 and 11/10 and I put Rose in with "Trouble" on 11/1 so it is possible he could be the sire. Trouble is Mike Vogan's breeding and has awesome color/patterning. One of the chicks is solid yellow (blonde); one is blonde with a blush "saddle" and one is 'blush'. It will be fascinating to see them feather out. I'll be taking LOTS of pictures and documenting their development for my records.

Nikki, I can't wait to see how you're quad is looking. If you SOLD Tango to Gail, I want to see what you KEPT!!!

;-)

P.S. I'm going to plan a New Year's Day Hatch of MFC eggs. Anyone want to join me?

The MFC project sure is exciting.
I am watching the chicks mature and they sure are looking interesting. I tried to mark them so I would be able to keep up with them and photos as they grew up but that didn't work. But it is still fun to see them all change as they grow.

Some have black feathers emerging and others only have yellow or buff feathers coming out. None are showing any white yet but I know that can change. They are only a few weeks old and I just had more to hatch out last Friday and some are due to hatch today as well as this coming Thursday.

Oh! And some are hatching under the MFC/buff hen today, too. One was peeping it's little head off when the hen got up from the nest. Not out of the shell but really using it's lungs at the zip hole! I could hear it 100 ft away! Must be a little roo.

This little pullet, Pumpkin, began with chipmunk stripes, then a brown head that looked odd with dark body...now white spots and a rich brown in her breast! SHe's from Patty's eggs in CA. The sire was an MFC and dam a black mottled. I am thinking about finding some solid buff females with good body type. What effect would they have on color? The winter light is kinda a bummer, its dark by 4:30! Ug! look forward to April, May, June....

Looks similar to my mille/mottled cross pullets. I didn't believe this pullet was actually from my mottled because I'd been having such horrible fertility with them and she is not what you would expect.. but, a few weeks ago I hatched the 2nd almost identical pullet and realized that was the case.

I posted a thread a few days ago asking about the reversal markings... the feathers are black, outlined with buff/gold with some tipped in white. It looks bizarre but Patty has had success with this and I know mottled is apart of the genetics so I'll be crossing these back to my red boy in the Spring
I also got this girl....
