Mille Cochin Info

I took their pictures, please bare with me, my chickens are not trained to stand still while being photoed. Perhaps Countryboy can come by and do portraits for me?

If I ever go South maybe I'll stop by. Usually I head North though when going long distances. Lol. I "love" seeing your roo and the hen n this pic up close is georgous.

Well I'll be headed off to camp for the week so you here much from me.

Your chicks look like pullets, I've never seen that coloring so I don't know that I can comment on it. Your roo will likely change a lot as he matures; he definitely looks like a MF project cockerel :)

Great info on the patterning and genes. Very useful if your colour spread is slightly lacking in black. I posted pic's of these two chucks one lemon millefleur and one blue and wanted opinions on if people think on their sex and feathering. Do they look right? Also put a pic of my 16wk old millefleur cockeral its not athe best photo. How is his colouring? Thanks everyone!
They are well on their way to being decent Porcelains. A few more generations to get the pattern just right but I noticed that my Porcelains were easier than the original MF but I was working with a different breed. And they are girls.

The MF boy is looking nice. Pattern is close so find a nice typy MF hen and you will be set to go.

Rem is gorgeous. I do keep thinking Rafael is a girl….that one pic that you posted of the wattle action really said Roo, but every time I see her uh him uhhhh. Well I guess time will tell. In any case, LOVING the nice roundy shape she/he has going on. Very nice!

Nancy! that Silkie in your avatar is amazing!
I'm crossing my fingers for a pullet. If it's a roo it has a home though. I like her/ him. It looks like a boy a lot but the you look at it and its a pullet. Time will tell I guess.

Now, somebody I know is looking for a rooster but don't want something you see everyday. Has anybody here crossed a MF Cochin and Silkie? I've tried Silkie and Brahma and hated that cross. So if a Cochin and silkie looks neat I may try that for them.

Crossed Silkie and Cochin a few times and hated it. The only one I like is my silkied Frizzle bantam Cochin roo, PJ. It took years for me to get this to click. I kept getting smooth feathering.

He's a pretty cool looking dude. I don't know then. I have to come up with something different. I could try it and if they don't like the outcome then I can take them to the auction. But I don't want to waste my time either.

LOL I don't have a silkie/cochin, but I do have a silkie/ee roo. LOL he's about 1/4 silkie and fun to have around... his chicks seem to be the most popular at the swaps lately. LOL

Weeble. (with a mille fleur cochin photo bomb LOL)
