Mille Cochin Info

is that a chocolate base?
Well no, not that I know of maybe some where way down the line. That is what I found so interesting. My friend is actually going to let me have her back, so I will see closer & better her actually coloring.

She came from my birds that I got from two different very reputable breeders (both pretty active on here, you would know them).
While I am establishing/building (trying to figure out space etc.) my Calico/MF breeders, for the moment I have a brown/red roo ( I do not have a Calico/MF roo, yet) over two calico girls. One has the more white coloring and the other is more red etc.

Maybe it's because I'm new to the chicken world (little over a yr.), let alone MF/calico & this has been my first ever season to raise & hatch from my own I was just very intrigued and in awe of this coloring. I know, not recognized etc. but this would be a wonderful coloring to strive for, if only for the "eye candy" factor.

That is really cool looking. It will be neat to see her at 8 and 10 months old! Yes, your brown red made the base color look this interesting.

She looks a lot like my Ruger did when she was that age. I tried to find a pic of her then but... that's the problem with taking so many pictures... they get lost in so many albums...
Anyway Ruger's father was Macho - f4 Mottled/ MF, looked Mottled with leakage. I could only guess at her mother. She was a brown chick at hatch. Was yours?

Sorry Karen! Seems like, if there's a way for a chicken to kill itself, no matter how obscure, it'll find it!

sold this girl to a friend when she was only 2-4 weeks or so old - and now about 4 months, she just posted this pic to me on FB
Thats a really striking bird never seen anyyhing that sort of colour. It does look like millefleur on a chocolate base. Wonderful! Thats great you sre getting her back

What colout would people call this girl!? She is 9 weeks and I bought her as a lemon millefleur. It sounded cool at the time but I really dont know if she is or what a lemon millefleur should look like!

It was one of my two girls from your eggs (Schoozle or Xavier) that was the momma.

on a sad note I lost (raccoon or opposum attack) one of the girls from your eggs from either Rascal or Grant

No, not that I remember any of them standing out from the others. Most were/are just black etc.

I wish you could find a pic. I would love to to see Ruger.

I am glad to know that you guys also think she is unique & interesting because honestly, I was floored when she sent me the picture but I thought maybe it was because I'm newer at this and just personally hadn't seen too many colored up like this.

Yes, I am glad I can get her back and it will be interesting to see her development.

Thanks - didn't know if it was just my novice experience with them (chickens in general) that about made me fall off the chair when she sent me the pic. Thankfully I didn't have to beg toooo much but I am giving her a very nice pair of blk moltteds in exchange
