sonoralinda, wonderful pics. You have a very nice little flock. I really am liking Jasper and Roscoe.
Thank you Country Boy. These are my first bantam Cochins and it is really interesting watching them grow and change colors. Jasper is the oldest and largest cockerel and is taking his job very seriously. At 10 wks. old should he be chasing down the others to show his dominance? He won't tolerate the others crowing. He even pecks my two chihuahua's when they're around the pullets. My dogs love to hang with the chickens and even have to try to graze with them on the lawn. I'm thinking he may be too aggressive.

Is it possible for a runt, Roscoe, to end up being a good one to keep to breed with or do you want to pick the biggest one?

How much smaller is Roscoe. My best advice is that you hang on to them all until you know exactly which one is going to be the best. Even if you can hang onto them until mid August I think you will have a much better idea of who you should keep because they are going to change and change a lot. He is an example of a cockerel I had from Nancy.

Well, my hen just hatched out my first pure MF chicks! I also have five eggs in the incubator and they are due today so we'll see what happens with those. I'm excited to see how they all turn out!

That's terrific. Can't wait to see pics of them. Sometimes I miss seeing their parents running around here. Lol

That totally blows my mind, I don't need drugs! Really, that's amazing. I'm amazed already just watching them change from chicks to 2 mo. olds. Thanks for the pictures. I can't wait 'till my husband gets home to show him.
