Mille Cochin Info

Here is Starr my lil frizzle pullet with 1 bad leg (sticks out behind her). Shes so spoiled and even tho she has a bad leg, she is very healthy and very pretty in color.

Guess it's been awhile since I've checked in. Great photos everyone! I like Ranger, Mike, so unique -- your mottled chick kinda looks like a pullet to me?

Let's see what pics I have to share..
I love watching mother hens with their chicks in the summer. I have nearly all of my Mille Fleur girls put to work this year either brooding or raising chicks.

Have some nice grow outs this year
no name yet (even though I pegged him as a keeper early on)

Stella -- can't wait to see her at maturity!

Speckles

I thought these chicks were going to be all I was going to hatch in Mille Fleurs this year, but I discovered another broody in one of the pens under a bunch of eggs yesterday, and I just smiled and walked away

Beautiful!!! I have 5 chicks from you that I hatched and I can't tell which ones are yours. I had some picken eggs too that I hatched out at the same time and almost all look the same. Some I can tell as these the roos are def not yours so they have been sold off. But out of the 16 chicks I have from that hatch, your 5 I can't pick out yet. By chance did your roo have black in him? I do have 5 that look very similar but I'm not sure.

Oh my, you guy's and gal's have some gorgeous Cochin's. The mille fleur coloring has to be my favorite.

I hope it's ok I joined in.

:frow  Hennie Pennie is lovely and Lucky is a lil cutie
thank you I love them to pieces. Lucky is getting more coloring in all the time. I never realized that you could spoil chicken's. But have found out you can. Hennie Pennie will come up and stand on your feet and give a couple pecks till you pick her up and hold her. Lucky only eats bugs that are hand fed to her by my husband. She will stomp her feet and scream at him till he gives in. But he can't hold her thats my job I guess.

Thanks Nancy. I am debating on keeping Ranger. He has exceptional wings but I don't want to keep a ton of roosters since I keep so few each year. He has really nice wings. I know I'm keeping 3 others I have though. The Mottled is getting a lot of red leakage now in it's wings. For a while I thought it was a pullet but his comb has gotten a lot bigger in the past few days. I will probly be hanging on to him, Feather, and a younger cockerel hatched from Harry and Sandy egg that I really like. He is being raised by Peppermint though, and is very white but looks to have a lot of chevrons and a deep mahogany color coming in on his wings. I would really like to get some pullets like your Speckles but most of mine this year are very light. I have one dark one from Tuba and Harry. I didn't get any pullets from Nigus except when I had him with frizzles. But I love your pictures. I'm hoping to get something like your Joxer next spring but I'm really liking what I have hatched so far. But I don't have anything really resembling the Mille color a lot...

OK the last time I posted a picture of my Mille, you guys said it was a boy and EVEN though i tried to get a pic of him being a girl, he ended up as a boy
