Mille Cochin Info

I pick up a young roo last week for $5 from a npip grower and love him. He looks like a painters coveralls after about a yr of painting. I was wanting to know what I'll get if cross him with rir or leghorn hens?!?

Sounds pretty! Uh, I mean, handsome! Depends on his base color for the cross. If he is a mahogany MF, then a cross with a RIR may show some coloring. If he is a blue MF, then you'd likely get a black-something bird if crossed with a RIR, I think.

She is pretty!

Ok these are the wings on my chipmunk babies. Any thoughts?(the lumber in the back is part of a project my husband was working on lol)

Ok I have a question. I have read a number of conflicting things in regards to breeding Mille Fluers using patridge in the line. Some for it and some against it. At this point I am completely confused. Could anyone possibly explain this all to me? I know some are using Golden Laced instead instead of the partridge for the pattern gene. I am currently sticking with what I have but curious as to everyones thoughts on it.

I have a quad of these guys and LOVE them! They are just now 6 months old and I've already hatched out a couple babies from them. Unfortunately they decided to quit laying for the winter already! But we shall see what the spring brings! I'm patiently waiting for the LF version of these guys. Wouldn't that be a sight???
