Mille Cochin Info

Pics
Ok, Mark, I've been to picnic and resized this, then uploaded it to BYC's "my uploads"...so I'm going to make one last attempt:

If it is the same size as before, I've *tried* and I'll give up!

Still got a long way to go to get the pattern right, but they're sweet birds. My daughter and I

Beautiful, Beautiful, BEAUTIFUL!!!

;-)

I'm so glad that you've got your foundation trio. It will be fun to select mates to see if we can breed toward the "traditional" MF pattern and/or the white-background "Candy Corn Cochin" type.

Will you be incubating eggs this winter?

I've got two more pullets coming from Tim and then I'll really be ready to see if I can produce both!

Nancy,

Instead of "white background" I think we need a new term. As someone said before (on MCF list) these are definately not "white background" birds. They present more white in the foreground. What do you think would be a good term? I can't think of anything right now, how about you? I just love these colors. Remind me of a Calico cat. lol

We could just call them "Candy Corn" like we've been doing. Or maybe something like calico would be ok.

I'll put a new poll on the MFC Yahoo group and we can all VOTE on a name for our beautiful Tri-Color Cochins!

;-)

Anyone who's NOT a member of the Yahoo MFC group can make suggestions on here!

Mine won't be laying this winter, most likely. They are only about 4 months old

I'm not counting on any eggs until spring.
