PS: trim that beak!!!! lol, im sure shes wasting a ton of food trying to fish for crumble with that huge thing in the way, if youve never trimmed a beak before, just be sure not to trim it down to the vein
nail clippers do the job well..

Her beak has since been trimmed.

shes better than most ive seen on eggbid, i need to look up the millie fluer standard, i am picking up some millie cochin project eggs this weekend, so i will need to know what to breed toward. what do you use to improve type once you have the color without ruining the color?

Whenever possible, you should breed for type first, then color. Once you lose type, you've taken a giant step backward. IMHO.

That's fantastic that they look so great at 4 months!!

Tango is just at a year now - those pics were taken back in February. I hatched 4 of her chicks in February - mine aren't as far along with pattern as yours are. I really need to get the pics on my page updated this weekend!! I had to wait for her to go broody, and then molt, before I could breed her again. So I just put her in with my other roo last weekend, but I'm going to hold off using any of the eggs for a couple of weeks, just so I'm sure of the parentage of the chicks. Still not sure yet if I've found the right roo to complement her - this is all just so frustrating at times!

Genny,

Your girls are gorgeous~!

They are already exhibiting the lovely chevrons on their breast which is what was lacking in many of my pullets last year. Fernando throws beautiful babies & the color of these is stunning.

It is so wonderful to such beauties as what you all put on here. I love seeing what I am working toward in the Mille Fleur Cochin. I adore all my project babies and fear that I will have a thousand before i am ever at the point where I can say I have accomplished something but they are so worth it.
Here are a few I have in breeding. It may take me a while to produce the pattern but I don't want to lose this nice type. I have about 5 pens going right now and am trying to hatch as many as I can afford to feed so I can eventually catch up with you guys in beauty and blossoms!

And another pen but this isn't all the girls in with this roo.

Oh, what a good pattern! Very nice type, too.
I hope to get the darker color on some of mine. I have so many light ones, they are coming out that tan color instead of more of the mahogany. But then I really am only on F1. I have a few F2 that are due to hatch though so it is exciting!

I have a begginer Q! How do you get a mille cochin? I have a mille flure and i just got a bantam buff cochin roo. If i mix the two will i get a Mille Cochin? Sorry i dont know any thing!
