Mille Cochin Info

Quote:
I never intended to sell them as Cochins. I know they are not.

I was offering a mixed project group of eggs. Which is what I put. I noted some would be mille fleur and some would just be mixes that have the genetics to create the color mille fleur. I said nothing about being cochins.

I'm not sure what I did wrong. But I can delete my posts if you like. I have no intentions on causing problems or confusion.

As a side note.

There are many people that sell mille fleurs. I suggest Lynne or Nancy. Both are very nice, and have beautiful birds.

how do i reach them , BYC name , email , website ?

Jen,

I'm so pleased that the pair are working out for you. Alfred's Dad is Santiago. Santiago has the best disposition & is such a giving husband to his ladies. I'm happy to hear that Alfred is walking in his Dad's footsteps.

lynne--I am such a dork--the rooster's name is actually ALBERT (as in Einstein...) I musta not had enough coffee.. hahah.. they are still doing great. I love them, they are both so sweet. I can't wait for chicks from them...

What would happen if Albert were with my white frizzle cochin hen? Would that give more calico colorings? Or just mess everything up? I was wondering if that would throw in the frizzle gene maybe? just for fun..

Albert really has his eye on her.. it must be the curls... lol! as an aside--she is very SQ, nice type etc. She is one of my show chickens, and always places well....

Hey Jen,

Nothing ventured, nothing gained~! I sure would try a mating between fluffy butt & Albert

If you're looking for Calicos, this may be the ticket....frizzled calico cochins, now that's something I would love to see.

Tate doesnt accept pm"s. You have to email him. If you look him up, (go to user list and type in tate) and look up his auctions you'll find his email.

I also have a frizzle white hen. Is white recessive in cochins as well? Hows that work with the mille fleur gene?

I was thinking of selling her, but may keep her if she will throw some nice babies

According to some posts earlier in this thread, Tate has sold all his stock & is no longer selling MFC. Check some of the comments a week or so ago.
