WOW MIke, type is looking good. And, color is looking great as well... so hard to get both right now. The heads need a lot of work but, you are really making some excellent progress.

I really think there is something to this partridge...

Some of my best colored chicks (not fully grown yet... so, we'll see) have been from this hen. Her feathers have that partridge kind of markings but, are tipped with white

Really nice boy, Mike. Can't wait to see what they give ya. Are you going to take those babies back to partridge to improve type again?

Hey Lynn,

Just popped in real quick to say I have 6 of your eggs going stong in the bator due to hatch on the 20th. You sent 15, but the PO really did a number on air cells. 6 air cells were ruptured. All the remaining eggs developed. I am extremely happy with these numbers. Thanks again. Will post pics when they hatch

Speaking of hatches, I just yesterday had my first babies hatch from my new roo, Rojo. I crossed him with my hen Bridget & I'm hoping for great type & color. The wait will "kill" me!!!

Wow! Lots of beautiful pictures this morning. I sure do love my cochins and now one of them has snuck into my husband's heart and he is into chickens too!!!!!!

Mike - your roo is looking great! I wouldn't guess he's the same guy from 2 months ago! Was his sire the mille cross or the partridge? I curious to know if his sire had black hackles, and if crossing with the partridge is what did the trick to get rid of the hackle black?

Lynn - can't wait to see your new chick pics! Rojo and Bridget look to be (another!) great match-up. Do you have any consistency yet in the chick down color?

As for me, I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of 2 (whatever was I thinking??) new beautiful roos this coming week from Nancy! Next on my list of projects is to get an electrician out here to upgrade all the wiring in my breeding room so that I can hopefully get a head start on spring - it's just so hard to do anything here in the winter. Temps here are already down into the teens at night!
And I'm still toying with the notion of my MF x my Golden Laced - Tolbunt would certainly be an interesting project!
