Mille Cochin Info

Quote:
He has a bad gene, I have to get rid of him to a pet-only home. He is only good for show or pet. I removed him from my breeding pen a month ago.

Sorry to hear about your roo, what bad gene did he have?

Wry neck. 2 out of the 4 birds I bought from Tim Kerbo have the gene. I culled the hen, just keeping the Roo for show then giving him away to a pet home.

so glad I was given info to check out this forum. Im looking for bantam mille cochin chicks or hatching eggs... I think they are beautiful.
The picture with the hen with lots of white is very pretty ...I dont know all the ins and outs of this pretty bird yet but have to have some in my flock...I have always loved the bantam cochins and love the bantams in general...so I will try to keep in touch with all of you and learn more about them...please let me know of anyone willing to part with some nice ones or even hatching eggs .I have some wonderful silkie hens and some banties as well that will set them for me or I can put them in the incubator ..

I felt good enough to take a couple of pics of my newest hatches. They haven't learned to pose for pics yet , unless you call the "fluffy butt moon'" from my little 1/2 grey chick a pose.

You would not believe how many photos I have of chicken butts! As soon as I turn the camera towards them that is the angle they give me!

Not nearly as cute as the above chickie though! Too adorable.

Those pics are too cute.

I bought a quad from Lynn last year and some eggs from bantyman... all of which are finally starting to lay. I have eggs going in the incubator as they are laid... first one set to hatch on the 4th. Can't wait!
