Hey Mike! I agree with Erin, they have much better type now! I wish my little Bantyman had looked like these boys. You have definitely made improvements. Love the color and that type is something you should be very happy with.

What do the sisters look like?

I seem to have more trouble getting type on my girls than on my boys. I don't want a real short body on my girls because I want them to be producers but at the same time I don't want long backs. I have kept both and am working with all typy boys but girls of all degrees to see what I may get.

I have a cross of Schmoozle (Mottled/MF) to a MF girl and at 6 months old she has also developed a leg problem. I am debating on whether to take her in for an x-ray or just cull. I can not feel a hip problem but every time one comes up like this I find a ball joint that hasn't developed enough. Only from Mottleds though. I did not expect to skip a generation. Yes, she is extremely typy. They always are!

Stephanie - don't you know it's illegal to use U.S.P.S. Priority shipping boxes for anything other than Priority Mail????

It was an old box that I had received eggs in. Why just throw it away? Is that still illegal?

I only wish I was lucky enough to get some girls from that cross It looks as tho Georgialee got the only one Last year was the year of the rooster and I got plenty Did a bunch of culling I got maybe 6 girls last year and one of them is on the BST auction She didnt turn into anything The others has a bit more type but nothing to drool over But absolutly NO GIRLS from the partridge crossing that amounted to anything From the batch of 3 boys I am going to keep 1 maybe 2 and make an attempt to sell the 3rd If I have a hen then she will go also Gotta run Later

I had a Mottled roo with that problem. Beautiful type (and a sweetie with tons of personality too)

It may have been you that helped me with advice on him. He definately had a hip joint problem.

I have my first MFC pip from your eggs, Nadine! They're due tomorrow night, but I've been glued to the 'bator like a crazy person since they went into lockdown.

First pip happened within the last hour!

Hey group

I found a pic of one of the F1 roos from my original cross I kept 2 roos from that cross and the other looks almost identical to this one Also found a pic of the hen but she looks really rough due to being in with 2 roos Had 2 hens out of that breeding but 1 died And I felt sorry for the last girl His son looks better than him The 3 boys in the pic together come from the hen and a MFC roo The lone boy come from one of these roos and the lone hen

Here are my new babies, from Nadine's eggs!

Unfortunately, I only ended up with 3. Despite the eggs being packaged WONDERFULLY, the air cells were a mess and I had lots of clears. Post office must have tossed them all the way here! They've been rough on eggs this spring!

And then I had one very late quitter.

I ended up with one grey-downed chick, one blonde with a warm buff tinge, and one that's a bright blonde with grey shading on it's back like a Columbian chick:

They look terrific! I bet the black colored one is a Schmoozle baby and the other 2 could be Bantyman and/or Xavier. What did the eggs say?

I hate that the PO is so rough on eggs. I have lost far more than I would have liked.

If air cells are messed up I just set the eggs on the bottom of my Sportsman with no turner and incubate that way. I have had a 50% hatch from them before. I also have had zero hatch so it isn't a perfect solution.

Hey Mike, I hope to have one of those here soon. I have some flight feathers coming in and, for the first time, one of those partridgey ones with awesome pattern right away looks like it will be a boy

I just got my computer cleaned after a crash because of 27!!!!! viruses... apparently, norton is the most terrible anti-virus ever says my computer tech. I will try and upload some pics tonight of the flight feathers.
