It may be awhile before I can get more pics, we are preparing to evacuate due to Hurricane Irene, due to hit us hard on Sat. I hope my birds survive. We are moving as many of our animals as possible to safety, but with the number of birds we have it is a bit overwhelming. I hope the hotel staff doesn't notice my chickens, chicks, ducklings and incubator in our hotel room, Lol!!

After reading about fattie's great fertility I was anxious to candle my eggs from Troy and see how mine were.....so last night at the end of day 6 I candled. I've got one blood ring, one clear and the other 17 are growing!

These eggs and some young birds I'm getting from wwmicasa1 this fall are my first venture into mille fleur cochins so I'll probably coming to this thread with questions to be answered.

Welcome aboard, Katy!
You are going to love the Mille Fleur project Cochins. They are so sweet and beautiful, I have a hard time letting any go.

I am taking 2 pair to the sale this Sat. that are not going into a breeding program here but they are so beautiful I hate to part with them. Granted, they are not "perfect" MFC but they are still gorgeous birds. They type is there on the roos but the girls are not as nice as I would have hoped. But it is, after all, a project.

Thanks....I'm sure I'll be picking you guys' brains.

I never thought I'd be getting away from LF breeds, but the last couple of years, I've cut back on them and added some bantam wyandottes.

Welcome to the thread with the prettiest little birds
Wait till you watch them grow - they are so beautiful at every stage and their patterns change so much, seems almost daily.

THese are my broody hens I took in the Hotel with me during the Hurricane. They hatched out 17 call ducklings and now are sitting on my MFC eggs from Troy. They are so dedicated to the eggs.

And my chickens and other animals were a big hit with the hotel staff and guests.
