Mille Cochin Info

I always seem to have a few girls in a few different pens laying. However, mine do not all hatch out MF because I have introduced the Mottled to most of my pens.
Schmoozle (MF/Mottled roo) is in with 6 well patterned MF hens but he still throws some black chicks with red leakage and then sometimes a dark MF chick.
Xavier (nice MF roo) is in with 8 MF/Mottled hens and 1 well patterned MF hen (only because she keeps getting out of any other pen to be with him) and I get nice chicks from those crosses.
My other pen of a new MF roo over 6 MF hens is not laying well right now, broody and molting but I was hatching yellow chicks out of their pen for a while.
And I have a pullet pen (6 girls, one boy) that I have not hatched anything from because the eggs are still too small, though fertile as I open them for cooking.
I have a good many other pullets but they are in grow up pens for later evaluation and I have about 20-25 hens that are my "lesser" girls that I keep just in case and are in Frizzle breeding pens or other fun project pens.

I am sure others may have girls laying right now and can offer pure MF patterned eggs for sale.

Thank you WestKnollAmy =)

I got some Cochin eggs as a bonus in an order. All three hatched out. I had not thought about Cochins really...now I do believe I have Cochin fever. I am totally sunk by these three chicks.

Oh, and it gets worse!
I started with 7 bantam Cochins in white. Now I have almost 200 in many varieties and play colors. My DH wants to know where all my LF went!

I am not one of those breeders. I like the LF Cochins just fine but really prefer my little snuggle muffins. The only LF Cochin project I have is crele.

Addicted?? Nah, just passionate about them!

Pix of the crele? Sure, on my website there are some at the bottom of this page http://www.westknollfarm.com/Standard-Cochins.html

or here are some from when he was molting .....

And here is one of his offspring......

I haven't dedicated as much time to this as I do my MFC project.
For one, it is hard to find the colors in LF Cochins that I want to use. And two, I am overwhelmed with projects! LOL I love them all but I can't focus well when I have about 25 going at once!

Well you did make progress. I'm only doing three projects. My Mille Fleur Cochin, (Uploading pics of the ones who arrived today), Lemon Blue LF Cochins, and a designer color. Just a bunch of mixed colored typey cochins. I'm using blue, blue mottled, splash, buff barred, and possibly some MF's.
