He's really different colored, pretty though. I think its kind of neat. I still dont know which Rooster to put with my best hens. I listed a little Red on Eggbid and now Im wondering if that was a bad idea?
From what Ive heard hes what I should be breeding from. Who knows????
He looks pretty nice to me! I don't know if the black color gets any better later on or not. I guess we are all in for a learning curve here. Sometimes it is selling your best stuff and kicking yourself in the pants a week later... LOL. The good thing is, more than one person wants him, so he should be okay in his new home. Keep up the good breeding. If you made him, you can make better!
Im getting seriously jealous here You people are producing some really nice birds and I havent even been able to get mine started Patty that boy of yours will produce nice when you breed him Hoping he will hold that type He is very nice That boy of yours Josh you should have kept him He will put down an excellent base for your project All I have is the same ol' birds Minus my roo He died last week So I guess this is the official notice of that Especially to everybody I havent contacted But I do have my backup So hopefully things will get rolling again
Patty its going to be awhile before you can get him bred to your project isnt it? I figure about 2 years on any project to see the results Mine should start here before long Hopefully before August
That's too bad to hear about your Roo Mike. I hate when that stuff happens. Hopefully I can raise some better ones this spring and I can send something your way if you want.

Thanks steffpeck. These are bantams in this thread, but there are other people working on large fowl. Gotta love those bantams when it comes to the feed bill... lol
Mike SO sorry to hear you lost your roo! Glad you have a backup boy. Good thing we are all keeping in touch and can help out with spares and eggs. You are still first on my list. I do not know why mine are not laying. Everhtthing (mostly) else is at least squeaking out an egg here or there. I am starting to wonder if there is an egg eater in there... might have to test them out with some junk eggs...
Mine have been laying a ton too but I won't know if they're fertile for a week or so. I just filled my small incubator and I have two dozen waiting for the new incubator that's supposed to be here Tuesday. If they all make it by some miracle, I'm going to be swarmed with chicks next month.
Patty - very unique Rooster - so cushie looking! Up here in Humboldt Co. where I enjoyed the Poultry Show yesterday!! What a Blast! I have my Mille Fleur Cochin start here, there are the hens:
