Mille Fleur Cochins

i know the birds are sold, but just wanted to give a plumage update on my boy, for those of you interested in this line. When he hatched he was all greyish buff colored. When he first started getting feathers, there suddenly appeared big white patches and scattered smaller patches of white that sorta made me swallow my adams apple pretty hard. Well, now he is moulting out again and where the biggest white patch on his back was, a lot of chesnut colored black tipped mille fleur saddle feathers are starting to fill in where he was white before. I guess the moral of the story is, don't evaluate feather color until they moult a few times, and even then I believe, from what I have read, that the color pattern may continue to intensify even past the age of two or three years of age. I am glad to see genuine interest in this color of cochin. Anyone who is working on mile fleur cochins and is interested in swapping eggs later on, PLEASE keep my contact info for this fall, or some later date.
Patty
