They usually start around 22-24 weeks. Pearl whites usually start around 19-20 weeks. So the MFL do take longer but 6 months is long even for them. When do MFL usually start to lay? My pullet is 6 months and still no eggs? That seems late for a leghorn but maybe MFL are a little different?
Thanks! She is 25.5 wks now so hopefully she will start soon! They usually start around 22-24 weeks. Pearl whites usually start around 19-20 weeks. So the MFL do take longer but 6 months is long even for them.
Yes, mine was VERY small and the SFH chicks I have grown out have been average size. Post pics as she gets older, I bet its a MFLYour post was the reason I thought (hope) that maybe this one could still be a MFL due to looks and size.![]()
Did yours grow at almost half the rate as others the same age as well?
I had a SFH that was a week or two older than this one and it grew much faster than this one did and is close to the same size as others the same age. I guess it may be possible it is just a very slow growing SFH but I really am hoping it is a MFL that just happened to hatch and the seller didn't realize it. I guess time will tell.
If anyone else has an opinion on what it could be please let me know.
I really hope to find some eggs to hatch on my own, I really wanted this breed!
