Yeah!!!! Glad to know they made it safe and are developing well!!! Please keep me posted.

How big should a 9-11 week old mfl be? Does anybody have pics of some next to a common object (bucket, waterer, milk jug...) for comparison? I had gotten a bunch of chicks from a seller who does the egg swap on here and there were some that were mixed up. The mfl were on my list but I was told they did not hatch. This one in question was marked as a Swedish flower hen but stayed so petite and I started wondering if it could be an olandsk dwarf (was also on her hatching list) But now looking through this threads comments and pictures I am wondering if seller was mistaken and it is in fact a leghorn. It is almost have the size of the other chicks the same age...
Here she is at roughly 9-10 weeks old: click on pics to enlarge

4-5 weeks old in middle next to bantam ameraucana on left and basque hen on right (all should be within1-2 weeks of each other):

The one in back corner. roughly 2 weeks old with same bantam ameraucana above

around 1 week old, in front left.

Below is my post from a few months ago. Your little one sure looks a lot like my MFL pullet at that age. And mine too was very petite. I think you've got a MFL there although I suppose it could possibly also be a Mille Fleur SFH.
here's my gal again. she is almost 8 weeks now and still so petite. All the other pullets her age have moved out to the big coop but she is still in with the baby chicks. She was my lone MFL to hatch so I dont have anyone to compare her to.

Your post was the reason I thought (hope) that maybe this one could still be a MFL due to looks and size.

Did yours grow at almost half the rate as others the same age as well?
I had a SFH that was a week or two older than this one and it grew much faster than this one did and is close to the same size as others the same age. I guess it may be possible it is just a very slow growing SFH but I really am hoping it is a MFL that just happened to hatch and the seller didn't realize it. I guess time will tell.
If anyone else has an opinion on what it could be please let me know.
I really hope to find some eggs to hatch on my own, I really wanted this breed!

Hi, if anyone is looking for Mille fleur leghorns in the Nj area, I have a trio or potentially a quad of 8 week olds available... They are listed in the 1-8 week old chicks section. Just scroll down and you will fine them. I posted the about 2 weeks ago.

When do MFL usually start to lay? My pullet is 6 months and still no eggs? That seems late for a leghorn but maybe MFL are a little different?
They usually start around 22-24 weeks. Pearl whites usually start around 19-20 weeks. So the MFL do take longer but 6 months is long even for them.

Yes, mine was VERY small and the SFH chicks I have grown out have been average size. Post pics as she gets older, I bet its a MFL :)
