Okay, I breed Mille Fleur Cochins. I've got wonderful birds from great lines, but am ashamed to admit that I have not kept a log of chicks and what they ended up looking like and if they were hens/roos. I've been getting about fifty/fifty chicks. 50% dark brown with light brown head, 50% partridge chipmunk looking. There's not much difference in the adult birds, they are just really nice birds. I'll try and get some adult pics of their older siblings, but I got a pics of the two chicks that hatched today-one of each. So, am I missing something? Does this have something to do with their future colour, or are the sex-linked
It's seriously weird, and I hope I'm not missing something and should be keeping all of one of them because it means they're hens???
It's so weird cause if I didn't have pure milles and didn't know that some of my teenagers looked like this as chicks, I would be sure I had some partridge chicks.
So, is this perfectly normal?
Starting with these two (And their little sibling who just popped out of an egg in the incubator as I typed this. Still really, wet but I'm pretty sure it's got the stripes) but anyway, starting with these guys I'm keeping track of what they end up looking like/being...but I'm REALLY hoping for an answer before that!
All help appreciated!

Edited to ad that the reason I keep talking about the adults being great and wonderful is that they are such good milles I know they can't be part partridge or anything like that, which is why I'm so stumped. First time I saw one (Hatched under one of my Silkies) I thought it was a Partridge Silkie...but nope :-/
Oh yeah, and probably should ad...some of my bird's base colour is brown, with black and white over it. Others base is white, with black and brown on top. Does this have something to do with that???
