I've seen many birds in the backyard... and have been watching the different species of beauty for a majority of my life. But I haven't seen this one before and I'm utterly stumped!

It's slightly smaller than the Red-Bellied Woodpecker, the beak is longer than a Downy's, and it is covered in gray feathers. Not many other colors except for light black and spots of white on the wings.
They liked the watermelon I previously placed near the feeder and they weren't too afraid of my presence outside. Could it be a juvenile Norther Flicker? I'm more knowledgeable with Songbirds and Nuthatches than the Woodpecker family.

It's a sweet little bird whatever it is. Thanks in advance!

Thank you, everyone, for the suggestions! :)

The body shape and stance, beak shape and length to skull ratio. It's all woodpecker.
Just what variety is the question. Likely because it is a juvenile.

I certainly agree. I was thinking a juvenile Red-Bellied Woodpecker... but there is very little of that deep black on the pattern of their wings and no red to be seen. Talk about a mystery variety!
Today when I sit outside I'll gather some more of the characteristics I see from him/her.
