Mini rex rabbit litter *Pic and question heavy*

So I have 5 nine week old mini rexes and I am not sure which to keep for my future breeding stock? I would like to get into showing them and need advice on that as well! Are their any showable color variations here? They came from a pedigreed Blue eyed white doe and a black buck. Any info would be great

You sex shots are a bit blurry. A rabbit penis looks like a half of a grain of rice - seriously. There are plenty of sexing videos out there and they helped me tremendously! Simple rule of thumb. l or O. l = doe O = buck, but I still need to see that little piece of rice before I say for sure.

Your first pic, that bunny is showable for sure, however you need to read ARBA's standard of perfection for how rex's are to be posed. They need straight front legs and a very round body, so you could start working on getting them to pose correctly. Your black also has a stunning shade to it.

Right now none of them are posed properly. Hold their head up high so their legs are straight and raise their chin, at the same time, push the butt towards the head til you have that round body. Keep workin, takes some time and you may get bit.

I think the biggest problem you might have would be with color. I'm not sure if there are any varieties other than white that are supposed to have blue eyes.

Sexing rabbits is easy, just look at the parents before sexing the babies and compare. One is supposed to look like an exclamation point (!) but I can't remember which right off. Gorgeous bunnies! I

Aha! After googling I finally can say with certainty that the females are the ones who look like an exclamation point. The anus is the 'dot' closest to the tail. If there's another 'dot' in front of (closer to the belly) of the anus, you have a boy. If the second opening looks more like a slit or the top of the ! point, you have yourself a girl

Hi -

Maybe I can help. I've been raising & showing Mini Rex for over 10 years. My boyfriend has been raising them since before they were a recognized breed!

Also, I won the sweepstakes NATIONALLY for the LYNX variety in 2010.

#1 DOE, NOT SHOWABLE - over 50% color, a broken of any variety has to "correspond with the eye color specified under the respective solid color variety.". The black variety calls for brown eyes.

#2 DOE, POSSIBLY SHOWABLE - it's a broken tortoise. The reason I say possibly showable is because I can't see if the rabbit has any color on the right side of it's nose. If it has ANY, it is showable. If it's solid white, it's not.

#3 BUCK, SHOWABLE - definitely black.

#4 Buck, SHOWABLE - It's a tortoise.

#5 BUCK, NOT SHOWABLE - same reason as #1.

If you can find a BEW or broken black buck you might be able to breed her to get the 'right' colored babies. She carries the BEW gene and also the black gene...apparently broken also. I thought the blue-eye gene was recessive, but the buck (dad) had eyes other than blue?

No one responded about the body type, only the color. I don't know enough about them to be able to tell by body type. But if #1 has good type, you might be able to still use her with a buck with 'appropriate' markings.
