Minimum number of Turkeys?

I'm interested in raising turkeys. I have read they are very "social"- in a way- and do better in groups than individually. I'm just wondering, this is accurate?

If so, I want to start with a small group. What would be a good number of poults to start off with? Would 4 to start be a good? Or should I expect to lose a poult while they grow and should I get a few more to be on the safe side?

I started out with 4 and they did fine. We had to kill one of them off because something was wrong with it's leg and it couldn't do anything. Then about 4 months later we got 2 more that were about 2 months old...and they do fine together.
