Yes, duck poo is a very good fertilizer. Chickens will destroy your garden by scratching and making dust bowls though, so don't expect much from them. They'll also eat all of your tomatoes and stuff! Ducks won't bother your plants much because they'll be looking for bugs and worms more than anything. They might bother the harvest though, but for really good bug control, get ducks.

Unless you have very small plants, which you shouldn't let any birds in with in the first place until they get established. Geese are the same way (I should have gotten more geese!) and will only bother fairly tiny plants. They like the tender new stuff.
