Minnesota and neighboring areas Swaps and Shows.

Thanks! I hope to check out the New Ulm one. :)

I keep a list of all of them on my website. Not sure if they will let me post the link here, but you just have to look at my profile to find it. ;) I also admin on a couple Facebook groups for the swaps. MN Bird & Small Animal Swaps is the main one.... A couple of new dates just rolled in last night and I have to update them as soon as I get a few free minutes.

Thank you!! I am not really looking to sell/swap though in June I may have some extras from a Murray McMurray order/ (bantams)
I just think it would be fun even to just go and see what people have. Though serama and call ducks (eggs or babies) are on my list lol.

To sell at a swap you have to have tested birds or be a NPIP flock. You would not be able to sell your birds from McMurray unless you are a licensed dealer or NPIP.

BTW If I remember to list a swap here. I have most likely gotten from Destiny's FB page.

Ditto on what Ralpie said! Anything under 4 months old has to have a current MN hatchery permit/NPIP to be sold at a public venue. Anything over 4 months can be pullorum tested, a numbered leg/wing band on, and then sold. Sellers coming in from out of state also need a current MN import permit and have to show NPIP cards on young stock as well. Same deal if we want to sell at sales or to even private buyers from another state. Say I want to go down to any of the IA or SD swaps/auctions, I need an import permit from them on top of all my other hatchery paperwork.

Question! I have Icelandics ( the landrace I am sticking with) I hatched a number of chicks last summer and have been getting eggs since November. Im VERY happy with this type. My question is, where would I get pullorum tested, how does that process work? I would like to bring started chicks to a swap, if only for the experience BUT I have never done this before. I did consider last year but never got around to going. I just want to make certain I cross all Ts and dot all I's!! :)
