Butterscotch is such a sweetheart.

He figured out quickly yesterday that every shovel of dirt included bugs and worms. He'd follow every move I made and chatted with me. In the beginning he would only pick worms out of the soil but by the time I was done he'd eat them out of my hand.

Call me a pushover but he's just moved to "live out your years on the farm" status.

I do remember that I lived in Grand Marias in the early 70s.  The drive to Duluth was terrible. If we wanted to go to a movie we went to Thunder Bay because it was faster.

My best camping trip was to Isle Royale. First time in my life I watched a moose cow and calf, picked blueberries, and sunbathed in my birthday suit.

The return boat trip made me suicidal for the first time in my life..

We just got in from a day of hiking. Our list of locations includes:
gooseberry falls trails, little two harbors, split rock River, the split rock lighthouse, high falls, cascade falls, and tettagouche encampment.

I suspect we covered 8 or 9 miles of trails today and now we are getting the Dutch oven burning for some 'Poverty food'
It really is better when it's made over a fire
