Minnesota!

I thought I would see what you guys think of one of my EEs. She has the puffy cheeks like crazy.
She also hs feathers that spin around her neck and it looks a lot like a boa.
Now is the feathers around the neck common?

Blanch Ranch. I would love to see more pictures of her standing and with the other girls. That color......

I think i have some tension going on with the girls today, i think they are trying to figure out who is going to be top hen. i must have started something by making them sleep on their roost last night. there has been allot of neck stretching, wing flapping and jumping on each other today..we will see who comes out on top...

Roost are the one way we mere humans can tell who is top chicken.

The higher the roost the better. if you move a lower chicken to a higher roost all heck breaks out. I do not think this apples to roosters. The higher the rooster the closer to the door they sleep ( I think). I have never seen my top rooster on the top roost. Ray sleeps on the high roost and he is bottom rooster.

My Rooster Roger will roost with whoever is laying eggs. He likes the top roost usually but if he can't beat the old hens to his spot then he'll hunker down with the younger girls and seems to not mind.

I still remember our first egg with our NH Sunny. He was so concerned for her we had locked him out of the coop and to keep her in so she'd use the nest box and not continue her search for the right nest (It had went on all afternoon with her all over the yard, in the garage, etc.) He paced and paced outside and then when we let him in to see her after. He hung by her side the rest of the evening and then she roosted on a low roost and he was right next to her the whole time not even wanting a high roost. LOL. Such drama....

KlopKlop and Minnie.

I need to apologize to you both, I did not mean to "rub" my overly large ranch all 13 acres of it in your faces. I need to be more sensitive to those of you on small 10 acre parcels. You are both welcome to come on up here and watch the setting sun on the horizon from my spread, or enjoy the sunrise. The deer and buffalo are roaming and playing all the time, it is really grand to be the owner of a ranch like this. My spread is so large I cannot see one corner of it from the other.

Anyways, I am sorry if you thought I was bragging when I mentioned all my acreage....

Oh and on another matter. I found a creamette pullet egg under the scrap iron trailer today! I am working furiously to get them locked up now so they can learn what a nest box is.
