Minnesota!

I too have been hit hard with frostbite. It seemed like no matter what I did it just got worse. Vasaline seemed to make one of my BA roo worse than better. I have taken sown most of the plastic down inside the barn to increase the Ventilation 5X's better. I have not had a problem before this extreme weather came.:th . The coop is inside an old barn with the insulation of a 100+ year old barn.

We have suffered a little from frostbite here also. The chickens with the larger combs all have frostbite on the tips. The California Whites suffered the most along with Mr Wonderful. The shorter comb breeds seem ok. The Buff Orpingtons, Rhode Island Reds and Silver Laced Wyandotes seem ok. The chickens live in the back end of a Morton Building. We have a heat lamp over the roost and another over the water pans. We have an old wood stove in there also which seems to take the chill off but it runs out of heat in the wee hours of the morning. Since the building is so large ventilation should not be a problem.

Does anyone know of a breeder in Minnesota that sells Japanese Bantams? Chicks or eggs? Daughter wants them for 4H and I'm having a hard time finding them.

Everyone ready for the snow dumping coming tonight?
I'll take the snow over the below freezing temps! will have to rake snow off the run so it doesn't collapse
