Minnesota!

Thanks, the UPS dude liked it too, I was mowing Friday (still no takers?) He flagged me down just as i was finishing to talk coops/chickens. He says his wife wants chickens. I, of course, said go for it!

MinnesotaNice, what kind did you get?

You have admirers!

Well, what breed they are really depends on who you ask - she said they're purebred Ameracauna. My sweet old neighbor got them from so and so who got them from so and so and is a renowned breeder! But really, they're EE's. It takes one look to know. But hey, I don't chicken discriminate! The lady is 92 years young and going into assisted living. She loves those two chickens more than her kids. I'm pretty sure they're set to get her inheritance. How can I say no? Plus, she always gave me homemade apple pies :) I'd do just about anything for a homemade apple pie....

Really????

I am making a list of things for you to do. Heck, I will make a pie for most the things on the list so far.

For all of you thinking of enrolling in Freezer Camp training. I may not need you, I will be baking a pie instead. Oops I meant to say class might be cancelled because I will be baking a pie that day.

Ralphie, I don't know if you can beat this lady's apple pie. I'm pretty sure she uses a highly addictive narcotic in place of sugar. We fight over it in our house.

She has a few ducks that need a home - maybe you can get in on the pie cash crop.

Oh I make some apple pie. Up until this year I had a honey crisp tree. A couple years ago a bear came through the yard. Got into my BOSS. Snapped my crab tree in half and stripped a portion of the graft on my honey crisp. This year that honey crisp tree grew mini toad stools. I'm so upset. DH planted new apple trees- a variety- he didn't fence them off and we lost a couple more to deer browsing. But I'm sure we have ha Harelson red, zestars, and maybe a surviving new honey crisp. The latter makes dreamy apple pies with crisco crusts.

ooooohhhhhhh you guys are just plain cruel! apple pie! apple butter!

Klopklop I came home with a pound of german white, a pound of armenian and a pound of chesnook - and it was a quick stop off the freeway at north branch.

fall chores are stacking up!
Ralphie I swear I would come to your apple pie class.

I think you misunderstood me. I am having a Camp Day class...

I was only going to make minnesotanice a pie if she sent my chickens to camp for me.

And what s chesnook?

must be all this apple talk going to my head. And I'm sure I'm busy on camp day, so sorry!

chesnook is a variety of garlic, I might be mangling the name!

I'm still reeling from the idea of house guineas.....the noise!

Fun surprise tonight at lockdown. I am trying to count heads and I kept getting distracted by a squeak sound. I turn to check the door and then it was behind me again. I follow the sound to the top of the crib and I found a kitten! It can't even be 2 days old. I kept my distance but it was sweet to see :) funny thing is that I don't even have any cats haha
