Minnesota!

yesterday started out good, I heard from an old friend i haven't talked to in ages, Mailman delivered a check to me from someone that owed me money from couple years ago, That was a nice surprise thought for sure i was out that money. So i was happy i could go to Menards and get the metal roofing for the chicken run that i wanted. I'm there so much this summer I'm starting to learn some of their names.. so I was unloading it and my little 5 lbs 10 yr old dog with 3 legs,no teeth bad eyes bad joints was so happy Mama was home he came running out to see me. ~~~ well they are doing road construction in our alley so I cant drive into my back yard I have to park in alley and drag things into my yard because they made this big ditch~~~ he got to the end of the grass and he tripped and slipped in the sand and rolled down into the ditch and landed on a broken stake they used to mark something but never removed, well the stake went into his chest and i had to pull him off of it and rush him to the emergency vet. He was in surgery for 2 hours. it was horrible.. but he is home now safe and sound and we spent the whole day snuggling in bed. my daughter in law brought us lamb because that is ButterFluffin`s favorite thing to eat. He is sore, stitched and has drain tubes BUT he is alive and on Pain meds. he has to wear baby onesies for couple wks but he looks cute in them. I have to say I was thankful to my neighbors not sure who did it i will find out and Thank Them but i left everything in the alley wood, metal roofing and bag of stuff when i went out back today to see if anything was still there someone had put it all in my backyard. didnt think anyone noticed anything because when i was outside screaming yesterday no one came out or said anything or maybe they did and i didnt notice..

All right guys as much as I would like to keep them all having ten more dogs just isn't going to work

I have six puppies available (four are already spoken for). There are two female whites, 2 female blacks, and two male blacks. The father is half Great Pyrenees and half Newfoundland and the mother is a purebred German Shepherd. They have been well socialized around cats, dogs, chickens, and kids. PM me for more info and picture of the pups and there parents and I will try posting an ad on here and uploading pictures, I also have an ad up on hoobly under Newfoundlands. Thank You!

Thought you might like to see our barn kittens gone house kitties :). They are small but can make quite the racket!

Our chickens were out making the best of the great weather. I love watching buck take a group of ladies out looking for treats. He makes this clucking sound when he finds something and the girls come running and gobble it up. He is such a gentleman.

Conrad is shaping up to be a good roo too. I was trying to catch one of my leghorns today to check he over. She is in a heavy molt and is very ashen and mopey. Wanted to make sure there wasn't anything else going on. She squawked and Conrad actually flew at me! I was squatting and he caught me off guard so I toppled over. I'm sure it was hilarious.

and im sooo loving snuggling with my baby even though he is sleeping, I havent laid in bed this long in forever.. have been playing FarmVille and watching Dr.Phil on demand all day.. never watched his show before...kinda like it...took a nap, drinking coffee, and eating reese`s peanut butter cups all day, ate almost the whole bag...LOL

Morning everyone! Looks like it is going to be another beautiful day like yesterday, wish I was off work to get things done, have to wait until after. Started staining my run add on yesterday, should be able to finish it today hopefully. If I don't run out of stain.
So very sorry about your poor puppy :(, I hope his recovery goes well. I hate when animals get sick or injured, you feel so helpless. He sure is a cutie! Try and have a great and safe fall day everyone!

We have fallen out of the top ten! Beaten by the likes of threads like "Peking Duck club"!! To be beaten by a Peking Duck club hurts!

Worse I have coffee and nothing to read this morning.

5 days until the CX's that lost the pardon lottery go to camp. That is a big thing for me. I now most people think of CX's as somehow less than really chickens or slob chickens. I do not. I find them to be the friendliest chickens that love to be held and will purr for hours as you hold them. Mine will free range the entire back barn yard area. They are so fun to watch waddle when they come running to me.

I missed on my estimate for feed on them when I bought it last July. I am a bag and a half to two bags short. I will be picking up some corn for them too. I figure they deserve as much chicken crack as they want this week.

I got the heat working in the new addition yesterday. Now I need to do something to get the house a tad cooler. I over insulated the house when I remodeled and I can not get the temp down, I had the thermostat set at 65, the thermostat is in the bedroom, but they house is 75 right now, way too hot. If I can not regulate it with the vents on the radiators I may have to move the thermostat out of the bedroom.

Well, I guess I will just sit here, drink my coffee and watch the turkeys out the window beings none of you have written enough for me.

Have a great cloudy day.

We were up to #4 the other day. I think we are all at a disadvantage.... Being all Minnesotans we are all busy preparing for the white hell of winter while those other hen clubs sit and cluck while sipping Mai Tais on the beach and deciding that 'ooo its down to 70 degrees today, better go put on a jacket'

I had to get up extra early today so I would have time to feed the kittens twice before work (when I first woke, then right before I left), so forgive me if I'm a little sassy today haha. The kits have to go 9 hours between second breakfast and their next meal so they will me hungry tonight!
