My 5 3 week old buff orpington chicks got eaten by a weasel last night:-(

So sorry! Weasels can be very tough to protect against since they can fit through the smallest holes. Were these your only chickens?

It's like kitty litter for chickens There is a discussion board on here about "poop boards" that function like a litter box under their roost (or whatever the thing they perch on is called).

weasels. They must be up in numbers. I had one too here a few weeks back. He or she was pretty little though. Don't think he could take on my birds.

Don't fool yourself, they ARE little and they DO take on birds and rabbits too that are 10 times their size or more.
There are some good trap designs online to get rid of them though, and pretty much the only way IS to trap them.
I hate predators.

Truer words were never spoken! Weasels are a threat to even the biggest chicken.
If weasels were the size of a poodle, no one would be safe.
I would highly suggest keeping a couple weasel boxes set at all times, in and around the coop.
This video shows a good weasel box design.
