Minnesota!

yes I would only use poison as a last resort as you say it is still poison I'm always mindful of where I put it and for how long I leave it out my dog passed away sometime back from old age and i haven't found another. But if your worried about a dog or cat getting into it put them up so they can't get into . I know it's simple to say that but if it's a valued family member it's worth the extra effort .

Maybe I can negotiate when I go get it on Friday. My old one went in with a 20" bar that I added after I bought it, and I expect to get that back too. An 18" bar would be a nice peace offering too :)
Honestly I would settle for them sharpening the chain though

Did someone misappropriated your saw while it was in the shop or is ittoo painful to think about

Nah, the guys at the shop are great. It's just been 2 weeks waiting to hear what is going on while I have the bottom half of a massive tree laying across my yard. 28-30" in diameter. This was the second and smaller of the two trees I was cutting up that day when it broke so it could use a touch up

I think that's a great idea and makes sense. I'll need to get one under there at some point anyways. I bet the folks at Home Depot are wondering what we're up do....we're always there buying the most random stuff to get the coop up and fully functioning. Does it matter how much space there is between the roosts and poop board?

I think I'm also going to move the roosts down a foot.
think trajectory, mine is only 6 inches off the tray, the poo pretty much lands straight down. The higher off the tray, the further out in can be thrown. Some people do a foot or more, then you need a wider tray to catch it.

yeah, I would keep the poop board at least 6 inches from the bottom of the roost. You have to figure that you don't want their fluffy butts on the poop. And if you aren't there to clean it up daily....it does pile up.

I pulled a dumb stunt somehow today. Just went out to close up the coop and the chickens came running. somehow they were locked out of the coop and they let me know what they thought of that!

I am so glad for this thread. My partner doesn't really enjoy talking about chickens, and rats, and when it comes to poop/droppings, she really doesn't want to hear it! LIkes those eggs though!

I got a PM today from a guy who asked if he could join me in teaching and learning. He said he likes the work I've been doing... What does that mean???

Good points with poop board height. I love how @Cluckies used the word "trajectory"! So very true, but it's the first time I've heard that word in conjunction with poop. Vomit, yes....poop, no. 'Tis the life of a chicken owner.

You need your parent or guardian to check this person out, don't give any personal info. Be careful and cautious!
