I hate to disagree with you BC. however, the word is important as long as you use the same one for the same command. BUT I am not downplaying the tone and volume they play hugely in if the command is really to be followed.

Dogs are so attune to small clues, tone of voice, body language and so forth. I think I read somewhere, dogs can learn 200 words and know what they mean. We are always amazed with ours when we mention we are going to bed, they go to their beds. They love routine though, change is hard on them.

I think @bantiesrule would agree as well. She picked up that waterer from me at my work off of 694 and north on lexington, she said they weren't used to driving in the cities

No breed.  That one is a pretty crossbreed.  I wouldn't venture to label Easter Egger either.  He is pretty.  I am going to wager he has some New Hampshire in him with that color, so rich and golden with the red chestnut color in him too.

He is a pretty fella. I'm not sure what to do with him. He's probably going to end up in the freezer unless I can this of an excellent breeding idea.

My idea of where the cities start is even further "out" than that. I kind of use, Hwy 10 going from Elk River east to hwy 242 east to 35E then draw a straight line to the St Croix river from Hugo. that is the north boundary.

South is around Co Rd 50 to some unspecified spot south west of Chaska and back to Elk River....

However, I do agree the planned growth of the burbs is disgusting I like spontaneous growth, but I am not the norm, I know.

Prime example. DW decided that she wanted to go use the mower to mulch leaves. She came back after and said ' that was stupid, I don't understand what I was even doing' and was in a huff. I luckily knew to keep my mouth shut and just nod my head. Dodged that billet

He would be a great cross if you want a barnyard mix. I am thinking of keeping one of Bert Jr's blackish brothers for crossing. I think they would make a great meat type layer/. I really like the bleeding of the red in them. I am not sure if that is passed on to young though.

We spent some time playing with the kittens in the living room tonight. trying to get the dogs acclimated to them. Our hound likes them but our lab/pit is still anxious. Her absolute favorite thing is chasing squirrels and rabbits and some days i worry she will knock out a window when she sees them from inside. She nipped at one of them tonight a bit and that resulted in me taking her down and biting her neck then time out. after that and then a little heart to heart she was able to come out and lay nicely on the couch and watch from a distance. That gives me hope that she will eventually get comfortable with them, but it is going to be a long road. Im afraid if we dont work on it she will just end up running them off when they get outside. The kittens are just getting to the playful age and love snuggling. Shera Socks

Am so in love ....keep posting cute kitten photos! Have to say, a guy who invests that much effort into kittens is a keeper. Tell your better half I said that.
