Days like these, we can feel where every crack and crevasse in the house is on the South side. I wish we would have pulled off the siding and put up insulation and new windows like we did on the West and North side. Still no siding on those two side, but the cold wind doesn't get through. We would much rather get rid of the house and build a new one or add onto the two story garage we have, but finding the time to do everything to make that happen escapes us.
Once I get my coffee drunk I will be heading out to work on this that and the other thing. I have a few more pots and plants to tend to and put away. Then out to work in the chicken yard.
I took both the dumped off cats to the humane society in Red Wing yesterday, finally. I would like to kick in the head, the people who would be so cruel. Shooting the poor things would have been kinder, they were so skinny and dehydrated, their bones were sticking out all over. More than anything they just wanted some attention. I am not some bleeding heart softy who takes in every stray, these things were really bad and so obviously house cats that had no idea how to take care of themselves. Another reason I like the barn cats.
And speaking of my chicken guardian cats, I didn't see little Mila all day yesterday and she was acting not like herself the two days before that. I hope she was just off sleeping off a stomach bug or something, if she doesn't come back (I would put money on she did not run off-fixed and born and raised here), I dread telling my daughter who adores her. In fact, she has kind of stolen the hearts of all of us, as kittens can do. The other two adults were out there eating and following me around and talking to me. Jerome has become an attention hog, which is a bit annoying while trying to do chores at times.
I think it is time to clean my coffee maker. It is taking way too long.
