Minnesota!

My coops not ready yet, but either this fall or in the spring I am going to try my hand at Turkeys. I only want a couple and am going to try for heritage breeds. Any recomendatikns on where to look. All the hatcheries I have seen require a min order of 15-20 birds. Way to many for me. I live about an hour and a half west of Duluth.

I have a black australorp sitting on 20 eggs that are due to hatch around the 20th. I also will be getting 5, 1 week old guineas at about the same time. Can I slip them under the hen towards the end of her hatch??

I think the one week difference might be too much. It ultimately depends on the hen though. If you do it the best way would be to do it at night in the dark. There is a great broody hen thread with more knowledgeable people who could give you some advice! It's in the hatching chicks forum.

Anyone in Stillwater, Woodbury area that will have cheap hatching eggs available in about a week? Working on a new incubator that will hold about 50 eggs but my girls don't lay enough to fill it and I don't want to spend a lot of money in case it doesn't work so great. Maybe make a deal? Like split what ever chicks that hatch? As long as they are purebreds and chickens I don't care what breed.

I'm in that area, but all my hatching eggs would be mutts. Looks like a large incubator you got going there!
